About Tupelo, Mississippi

Tupelo is an industrial city located in the Appalachian foothills of northeast Mississippi. It was named after the native Tupelo Gum Tree. Tupelo honey is highly recommended for its delicate, distinctive taste. A major battle of the Civil War was fought here in 1864. The scenic Natchez Trace Parkway connecting Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN is headquartered in the city of Tupelo. The Tupelo automobile museum is home to about 150 automobiles. The city has a small airport and a zoo called Buffalo Park. It is the headquarters of two banks - Bancorp South and Renasant. Tupelo is one of the largest furniture manufacturing markets in the nation. The economy is continuing to grow as Toyota is building its eleventh U.S. automobile manufacturing plant nearby.

Last, but certainly not least, Tupelo Mississippi is the birthplace of Elvis Presley.
